NEC Presented “Foreign Policy Audit: Ukraine-Latvia”

On March 22, the New Europe Center held a public debate “Foreign Policy Audit: Ukraine-Latvia”. At the event NEC Deputy Director Kateryna Zarembo and Elizabete Vizgunova, researcher at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs, presented their discussion paper on the Ukrainian-Latvian relations.

Participants of the discussion:

Andrejs Pildegovics, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia;

Vasyl Bodnar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine;

Olexandr Kodola, MP, Chairman of the Group for interparliamentary relations with the Republic of Latvia;

Introductory remarks: Juris Poikans, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine.

The study of the Ukrainian-Latvian relations is a continuation of a multi-year initiative Ukraine’s Foreign Policy Audit”, undertaken by the team of the New Europe Center. Our goal is to study the mutual interests of Ukraine and its strategically important partners in order to develop recommendations for a proactive foreign policy for Ukraine.

In the framework of the initiative, 20 discussion papers have been already published on Ukraine’s bilateral relations with its partners, as well as the recommendations to the Foreign Policy Strategy of Ukraine.
