Study visit for French opinion leaders

On June 20-21, 2024, the New Europe Center together with Ifri – French Institute of International Relations held a study visit for French policymakers in Kyiv.

“France always has a special place in our visits – and because of the understanding of the weight of this country (long before Macron’s well-known statements), and because of the interest of the French participants themselves to visit Ukraine, and because of years of partnership with the country’s leading think tank IFRI, in partnership with which we organized part of our visits and the annual Ukraine-France Forums in Paris. It was another “purely” French visit with a powerful group of participants, complex questions and opportunities to get detailed answers almost non-stop”, Alyona Getmanchuk, Director of New Europe Center, said.

Foreign delegation of ministries` strategists, famous experts and influential columnists had an opportunity to meet with Dmytro Kuleba, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Olga Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Alexander Kamyshin, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the EU, Andrii Kononenko, Brіgade General, Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, deputies Yehor Cherniev and Oleksiy Goncharenko, leaders and representatives of the NSDC of Ukraine, Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and Ministry of Defense.

The delegation participants are: Céline Bayou, Head of the Department Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Caucasus, DGRIS/ French Ministry of Armies, Sylvie Kauffmann, Editorial director and foreign affairs columnist, Le Monde, regular contributor to the opinion pages of the Financial Times, Daphnée Benoit, Head of International Department, Agence France-Presse, AFP, Marc Semo, columnist, Challenges, Johanna Bouyé, Advisor on Strategic Issues, Policy Planning, French MFA, Marc Paul Hecker, Deputy Director of Ifri, Editor-in-Chief of Politique étrangère, research fellow at the Security Studies Center, Tatiana Kastoueva-Jean, Head of Russia/Eurasia Center, member of the board of directors of Ifri.
