The New Europe met with the candidates for the European Parliament

Sergiy Solodkyy, First Deputy Director and Kateryna Zarembo, Associated Senior Fellow of the New Europe Center met with the candidates for the European Parliament from the pan-European movement and political party Volt Europa (the visit of the delegation took place last week, April 7-11, 2024).

The future European lawmakers were primarily interested in Ukraine’s urgent needs, the situation on the battlefield, the evaluation of the latest initiatives of European leaders (in particular, the sending of troops issue), etc. During the meeting, the experts of the New Europe presented the Center’s analytical documents, which answered a significant part of the politicians’ questions.

In particular, it goes about the selection of arguments by the experts entitled “Top-8 potential game changers. What initiatives of international partners will bring Ukraine closer to victory?”, as well as the discussion paper “NATO Plus Security Formula. Analysis of the most discussed security models of Ukraine”.

As a reminder, the elections to the European Parliament will be held on June 6-9, 2024.

The main purpose of the visit of future MEPs is to increase awareness of the intertwined security, economic and political interests between Ukraine and the European Union. According to the representatives of the delegation, this visit creates a meaningful platform to Ukrainian interests during the EP elections, the outcome of which is critical for continued support for Ukraine’s European future. The delegation included politicians from the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy and other countries.
