New Europe Center at the presentation of the Corruption Perception Index 2023

Senior Fellow Leonid Litra spoke at the presentation of the Corruption Perception Index organized by Transparency International Ukraine. The panel discussion was focused on the role of the civil society in the European integration process.

During his speech, Leo Litra underlined the efforts of Ukrainian civil society to accelerate the reforms and build an inclusive process of integration. A special attention was brought to the independent monitoring “Candidate Check” developed by a coalition of profiled think tanks and civil society organizations led by New Europe Center.

Ukraine scored 36 points out of 100 in the 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI); now the country ranks 104th out of 180 countries. Ukraine’s growth by 3 points is one of the best results over the past year in the world. Ukraine is also one of the 17 countries in this year’s CPI that have shown their best performance ever.
