On March 13-19, the director of the New Europe Center Alyona Getmanchuk, and Senior Research Fellow Leo Litra, Head of the ANTS – National Interests Advocacy Network, and Olena Halushka, Board Member of the Anti-Corruption Action Center, paid an advocacy visit to Washington, DC.
During the visit, the experts carried out more than 40 meetings – about 20 of them in Congress, as well as the White House, the Pentagon, the State Department, panel discussions in 4 think tanks, communication with the media, an appointment with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, Oksana Markarova.
“Throughout two days, our advocacy delegation almost settled in the Congress – about two dozen meetings. Republicans, Democrats. In the House of Representatives and in the Senate. Even between appointments, we didn’t leave the building , we moved through the tunnels under various congress buildings,” Alyona Getmanchuk shared her impressions from Washington.
“The level of knowledge and consciousness of the importance of the Ukrainian victory is very uneven, therefore an individual approach to everyone is requires. We went through all the main points where the congress could further be useful. Today we carry on there, together with the State Department, the White House, analytical centers close to the Republicans”
