On December 1, European Union leaders had an official visit to Ukraine. President of the European Council Antonio Costa, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Kallas, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos visited Kyiv on the first day of their new high positions. Alyona Getmanchuk, Director of the New Europe Center, took part and spoke at a meeting with them as part of a delegation of think tanks and public organizations.

“In my remarks, I focused mainly on what the EU can do not only in the status of the main transformational force, as it has done for many years on the continent, but also in the status of one of the key security and defense partners of Ukraine and investors in our defense industry”, Alyona Getmanchuk said. “Although I honestly admitted that to ensure our security, the process of joining the EU is not enough – we need the process of joining NATO and some intermediate elements in the implementation of the Coalition of resolute”, the Director of the New Europe Center added .
