Director of the New Europe Center Alyona Getmanchuk took part in the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Maas, organized in the residence of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ernst Reichel.

The representatives of Ukrainian non-governmental sector, as well as politicians keen on implementing reforms in Ukraine took part in the discussion.

Foreign Minister Maas is visiting Ukraine along with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian. The visit is above all aimed at negotiating with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. France and Germany work together in the Normandy format and since 2014 are trying to resolve the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.

Alyona Getmanchuk represented the New Europe Center which prepared a series of policy papers with recommendations for the new President. Director of the New Europe Center is the author of a series of policy comments “ZeDiplomacy of ZePresident” analyzing challenges and opportunities faced by the new Ukrainian leader in the field of foreign policy.
