The New Europe Center invites you to join the discussion “Less than Membership, but More than Partnership: What NATO Truly Provides for Ukraine?”
Date and time: April 8, 2026, 11:00–12:30 (EEST).
Format: online.
Working languages: Ukrainian and English.
The event will be streamed in Ukrainian on the New Europe Center’s Facebook page and in English on the New Europe’s YouTube channel.
The role of NATO in supporting Ukraine remains a key issue in the context of Russia’s ongoing aggression. At the same time, public expectations of the Alliance do not always align with the actual mechanisms of cooperation.
The discussion aims to explore what NATO has already delivered for Ukraine, how this support has evolved, and what changes in the approach to cooperation may be needed.
During the event, an analytical paper, “Squeezing the Most out of It: How NATO’s Support for Ukraine Has Evolved,” will be presented. The paper was prepared by Oksana Osadcha, Member of the Supervisory Board of the New Europe Center.
The New Europe Center will also present the results of a recent public opinion survey on Ukrainians’ attitudes toward NATO (conducted by Info Sapiens on March 7–20, 2026), including levels of trust in the Alliance and what drives trust and distrust, as well as public expectations of NATO.
Speakers:
- Alyona Getmanchuk, Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO
- Joseph Dobbs, Head of Political Affairs, NATO Representation to Ukraine
- Oksana Osadcha, Member of the Supervisory Board, New Europe Center
- Leo Litra, Senior Research Fellow, New Europe Center; Senior Policy Fellow, ECFR (Brussels)
Moderator: Sergiy Solodkyy, Director, New Europe Center
This event is funded by the UK government as part of the “Mutual Transformative Power: changing Ukraine through cooperation with wider Europe” project, implemented by the New Europe Center.
