22 December 2025, 16:25

Leonid Litra, Senior Research Fellow at new Europe Center, Visiting Fellow at ECFR, took part in the high-level conference “Securing Tomorrow: Biosolutions and Defence for a Resilient Europe”, held in Copenhagen.

The conference brought together representatives of European and Danish private sectors, government institutions, security and defence communities, academia, media, and think tanks to discuss how innovation in biosolutions can contribute to Europe’s resilience amid growing geopolitical and security challenges.

Discussions focused on the role of biosolutions in strengthening supply chain resilience, enhancing supply security and strategic autonomy, and supporting Europe’s defence capabilities, competitiveness, and sustainability.

Leonid Litra emphasized the importance of maintaining sustained support for Ukraine against Russian aggression: “We need to make sure that Ukraine has everything necessary to fight the war but keep high on the agenda reforms and transparency”.

The conference provided a platform for exchanging perspectives on emerging security challenges and future-oriented solutions, as well as for fostering dialogue between policymakers, industry, and the expert community on building a more resilient and secure Europe. The event was co-hosted by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), the European Biosolutions Coalition, DI Danish Defence and Security Industries, and DI Biosolutions.
