On July 29, 2019 NEC’s Senior Research Fellow Leo Litra attended the EU Debates Café which took place in Cahul, Republic of Moldova.
The public discussion reunited local opinion leaders with a panel of representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Mayor of Cahul, expert of the Institute for Reforms and European Policies and the NEC representative.
During the event it was discussed the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union by Moldova and Ukraine. The discussion provided an assessment for the achievements and failures in implementing the AA. The second part of discussion was focused on the impact on regional and local dimension of the Association Agreement with specific recommendations on how to better tailor the AA to the local needs.
The event was organized by the Institute for Reforms and European Policies from Chisinau with the support of Hans Siedel Foudnation.
