“Ukrainians want to secure their place on the new U.S. administration’s radar. They’re trying to establish contacts, build bridges. Also the Ukrainian leadership is trying to explain to Trump and his people that if there is someone who doesn’t want to negotiate now, it’s Putin, not Zelensky.”

Alyona Getmanchuk, Director of New Europe Center, commented for The New York Times.

According to the recent poll by the New Europe Center 44 percent of Ukrainians trust Mr. Trump. “Part of that support stems from the disappointment many Ukrainians feel with Mr. Biden’s cautious approach to helping Ukraine’s military”, Alyona Getmanchuk expained

The New York Times quoted the opinion poll “Foreign policy and security. Opinions of Ukrainian Society” which is available here: https://cutt.ly/3eCFwZrG
