“Ukrainians want peace, but it must be fair and lasting. If you want peace in this part of the world, the key question is how to guarantee security and deter Russia from renewed aggression”
Sergiy Solodkyy, Director of the New Europe Center, commented on the first part of recent opinion poll “Foreign Policy and Security: Opinions of Ukrainian Society-2025”, which was commissioned by New Europe Center.
Some of the points citied by Daily Mail:
– Two-thirds of Ukrainians oppose any negotiations with Russia without strong security guarantees. Otherwise, they fear, Moscow would simply renew its attacks after a brief pause.
– Record numbers – more than eight in ten – oppose key concessions. These include demands that Kyiv recognises Russia’s occupation of terrain stolen from Ukraine, that Kyiv limits the size of its armed forces and that it grants official status to the Russian language.
Part 1 of the opinion poll results is on New Europe Center`s site via the link.

The full results of the opinion poll will be presented on December 15, 2025 on Youtube channel and Facebook page of New Europe.
