At a crucial moment for Polish-Ukrainian relations – the new government in Poland and the political decision of the European Council to start the introductory negotiations between Ukraine and the EU – Alyona Getmanchuk, Director of the New Europe Center, took part in the XV Forum “Ukraine – Poland” and the public discussion “Scenarios of the future: expectations, fears and hopes of Ukraine and Poland in the process of European integration in 2024” within the framework of the Forum in Lviv.
Participants discussed such issues as:
- Evaluation of the decision of the European Council on December 14-15 on Ukraine;
- Changing the role of Poland in relation to Ukraine in the process of Ukraine’s integration into the EU;
- Influence of the change of power in Poland on bilateral relations;
- Expectations for solving sectoral and economic problems (blocking the border, agricultural exports/imports) in the near future;
- The greatest fears of both sides and opportunities and hopes for good relations.
