Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha held a meeting with members of the Public Council under the MFA of Ukraine. The event was also attended by Sergiy Solodkyy, Director of the New Europe Center.
Andrii Sybiha emphasized the importance of engaging civil society and the expert community in decision-making and in advocating for Ukraine’s interests on the international stage. “I believe in the synergy of Ukrainian diplomacy and civil society. Today, the geopolitical future of Europe and the entire Euro-Atlantic community is being defined in Ukraine. In this situation, we must defend Ukraine’s national interests in a consolidated and coordinated manner at all levels and platforms. This is the diplomacy of strength, which we at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are implementing under the leadership of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy”, the Minister noted.
The head of the MFA outlined the key priorities of Ukraine’s foreign policy – strengthening the state’s defense capability, achieving a just and sustainable peace, ensuring security guarantees, advancing European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as developing economic and cultural diplomacy.
During the discussion, participants considered tools of cooperation between the MFA and the Public Council as an advisory and consultative body under the Ministry and agreed on the systemic engagement of the Public Council and its representatives in mobilizing international support for Ukraine.
