New Europe Center announces a major initiative to develop a vision for the future of the European continent.
Over the last year, a number of European leaders unveiled their visions of the future of Europe. The leaders of France and the UK, as well as the heads of European institutions depicted the contours of the New Europe, each speaking out of the interests of their state.
What is Ukraine’s vision of its place and role in the New Europe? Are the current approaches to the implementation of European integration correct?
The research team of the New Europe Center announces the launch of their initiative to develop the vision of the New Europe from Ukraine’s perspective. #NewEuropeVision
It is important that this document becomes a guide for Ukrainians. That is why it cannot be developed by one or two authors without taking into account the views of a broader audience. We will take into consideration the approaches of those who make decisions in the field of European integration today; we will also analyze the opinions of critics of these approaches; we will familiarize Ukrainians with the views of opinion leaders; and most importantly, we strive to engage every Ukrainian whose opinion might influence the formation of a successful European model for Ukraine.
For this purpose, the research team of the New Europe Center, together with representatives of the NG sector and European diplomats will visit the cities of Ukraine to discuss the future vision. We will unveil the documented vision of the New Europe during the New Europe Forum in Kyiv. Later, we will present it in Brussels and the capitals of the EU member states.
We invite every Ukrainian to speak out today about what the New Europe should be and what will be Ukraine’s role in it. It does not necessarily have to be a multi-page research piece; even a single concise idea would be sufficient. The authors of the most original and useful proposals will participate in the final presentation, and present their thoughts to Ukrainian authorities, the diplomatic corps, and journalists.
