The New Europe Center continues the practice of advocacy visits to Europe. This time the Center’s team worked in Berlin.
On October 11 and 12, a series of meetings was held with government officials, deputies, opinion leaders, fellows. The main topics were urgent military needs, including the unblocking of the Taurus decision, Berlin’s support for the opening the accession talks with the EU and preparations for the NATO Summit in Washington, D.C.
The Center’s team conducted a visit to the Chancellor’s Office, where the Candidate Check-5 results were presented the in order to clearly show that Ukraine is ready to open negotiations with the EU, and also presented a the Center`s closed memo with arguments why Ukraine’s accession to NATO is in the interests of Europe in general and Germany in particular.
Alyona Getmanchuk, Director of the New Europe Center, took part in the First German-Ukrainian Breakfast Debate, where the think tank became a partner of the event.
Leo Litra, Senior Fellow of the New Europe Center, participated in the panel discussion “The Impact of the Russian Aggression on Neighbouring Countries – Civil Society‘s Expectations from the EU” during the conference “Ukraine and US: What Does the Russian Aggression Mean for Europe?”.
