
On 30 September, New Europe Center organized a closed expert discussion called “Managing spontaneity: how to make security and defence cooperation between Ukraine and the EU more predictable and sustainable”.
Sergiy Solodkyy, Director of the New Europe Center and Oksana Osadcha, Board Member of the New Europe Center started the discussion with opening remarks.
In trusting atmosphere representatives of government and experts looked into a broad range of questions and challenges that emerge in defence cooperation between Ukraine and the EU. In particular, the lively discussion centred on the aligning of defence planning, the search for new mechanisms of cooperation in the field of defence, as well as the balance between deepening cooperation and safeguarding national interests.
The findings and ideas put forward during the meeting will be utilised in the Centre’s future analytical work.
