“If Trump truly believes in peace, it is time to implement a “peace through strength” approach towards the state which started this war and refuses to end it. Because if the aggressor gets only carrots and no sticks, its appetite will only increase.”

Sergiy Solodkyy, First Deputy Director at the New Europe Center, spoke with popular Czech media iDNEZ. The interview covers the implications of a partial ceasefire agreement in the Black Sea, Russia’s ongoing war aims, and how Moscow attempts to exploit negotiations for its benefits.

«New Europe Сenter have long been calling for key Western countries to unite in a Coalition of the Resolute. Ukraine expects quick, decisive, and bold decisions from these most fearless governments – especially on a Western contingent and a sky shield – as transitional steps toward NATO membership», Sergiy Solodkyy stressed during the conversation.

“Russia is not in a position to dictate terms. It is an aggressor, it has trampled on international law, and it is exhausted by a protracted war. History shows that attempts to resolve conflicts through appeasement usually lead to even greater aggression. Not to peace”, New Europe`s expert explained.
