New Europe Center became a partner in co-organizing the first Moldova Security Forum, that was held in Chisinau, Moldova, on November 19-20.

During the panel on the reconstruction of Ukraine which NEC was charing, the speakers discussed mostly the security guarantees for Ukraine and the conditions under which the fast recovery and reconstruction can take place.

Only a secure Ukraine in NATO (or bilateral security guaratees) can provide for the conditions to unfold a process of full reconstruction of Ukraine.

The speakers ot the discussion panel were:

  • Olena Halushka, Member of the Board, Anticorruption Action Center (AntAC), co-founder of International Center for Ukraine victory (ICUV), Ukraine;
  • James Jay Carafano, Senior Counselor to the President and E.W. Richardson Fellow, The Heritage Foundation, USA;
  • Francois Heisbourg, Senior Advisor for Europe, International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), France;
  • Alexandru Gozun, President, American Chamber of Commerce in the Republic of Moldova;
  • Daniel Sleat, Senior Policy Advisor for Europe and Global Trends, Tony Blair Institute.

Leo Litra, Senior Research Fellow, New Europe Center, moderated the panel discussion.

The forum gathered over 500 participants from 28 countries and was hosted by tthe Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), Konrad Adenaur Fund in Moldova and NATO Liason Office in Moldova.
