NEC Club: What Foreign Policy Challenges Does Ukraine Face?

On June 10, New Europe Center held an annual event – NEC Club, which allowed to discuss in the informal atmosphere the foreign policy challenges of Ukraine. One of the main goals of the meeting was to identify the most relevant topics for future analytical materials by think tanks.

In particular, Vadym Prystaiko, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration; Hanna Hopko, Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; Olga Stefanishyna, Director General of the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration; Vasyl Khymynets, Director of the First European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; Petro Beshta, Deputy Director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine represented the Ukrainian authorities.

The participants of the NEC Club included the specialists on international relations and security issues ranging from think tanks experts (non-governmental sector) to officials.

New Europe Center Club is an annual event, aimed at discussing the further development of the organization with our key partners in the informal atmosphere. Find more information about the past year meeting here.

Mission of the New Europe Center is to develop policy papers and conduct project activities in order to promote European standards and practices in Ukraine, as well as to increase support of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic prospects among opinion leaders and officials of the EU and the NATO.

NEC aims to pursue three strategic priorities:

  • Enhancing the effectiveness of Ukraine’s foreign and security policy
  • Communicating European and Euro-Atlantic choice in Ukraine
  • Communicating Ukraine in the EU and the US

The event was organized within the Think Tanks Development Initiative for Ukraine, implemented by the International Renaissance Foundation in partnership with the Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE) and with financial support from the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine.
