“It is unnecessary and even dangerous to equate the security commitments that the countries already offer today with the real security guarantee provided by NATO membership and Article 5. By equating these options, we lose focus and complacate gaining the goal of receiveng invitations for Ukraine in Washington,” said Alyona Getmanchuk, director of the New Europe Center, during the panel discussion “On the way to NATO membership: Ukraine as a security guarantor of Europe”.
